Default Aero question (splitter)

I just installed a chassis-mounted splitter over the weekend and eyeballed the angle to be about flat when I was mounting it. With everything put together, the digital level says the splitter is sitting at about +1 degree (upward sloping). I'm inexperienced with aero and have read seemingly differing opinions on how a splitter actually reduces lift/generates downforce. Should I adjust the splitter to sit perfectly flat or at a negative angle? Appreciate any help!

Taking out the minor +1° will be proper but not critical to the front splitter. The front splitter design is intended to be neutral (0°).
