Default Another Seat Thread

So, I've searched the hell out of this forum and the google, but haven't found any definitive thread stating "Seat X fits with Bracket A and Slider B, w or w/o interior/ with Z interference". In fact, information on Corbeau fitment seems to be extremely rare. I'm looking to replace both the driver and passenger seat in my 06. The car is being prepped for STR. Seats would be way down on the list, except my drivers seat is ripped to hell and has a crushed LH bolster.

I'm looking at using a Corbeau FX1 Pro. I need OEM headroom or greater - which brackets and sliders do I buy (and from where)? Will I need to buy an extender for the belt buckle? What fitment issues am I likely to run into? If the wings hit the door, will the door panel be damaged?

FWIW, my reasons for looking at the Corbeau are: Cost, and the Forza was a good fit/relatively comfortable for me in our Lemons car. I've had a Sparco Sprint before, and my back will never forgive me. I like Sparco Evos, but prefer not to spend the coin unless I have to. I am open to other suggestions in the $500 or less/seat price range. I am a 32 waist, 6'0".

The fx1 pro looks like it will fit fine but will have the common wing contact issue with door and limited and or no use of the glove box unless u get sliders.

I've been wanting to see the fx1 pro mounted up as well. The seat is a little flexy though from one I have sat in.

I'd imagine that you can mount it multiple ways, with or without sliders.

"It will probably work" seems to be the only feedback I can get. Some people say they mounted Corbeau seats in their car without issue, others say the brackets/sliders wont work, some say the seats work with the Backyard brackets/sliders, others say the seat is too wide... I can't figure out who's right.

I wish seat manufacturers would publish real dimensional data on the seats

This may not help, but - we put the FX1 Pro in our track Evo and it was more comfortable than the factory recaros for my lower back for some reason. But, the bracket slider combo made the seat sit up very high. I would think the best way is to use side mounting brackets on these seats to lowe these seats, Corbeau makes side mount brackets which will work with these seats, but unsure how it will work with s2000 floorpan etc. But, a decent seat for the money all in all...I would buy them again.

I have heard this feedback from many with other cars.... Corbeau makes shitty brackets and they push the seat up high. I guess the important question is: Will any other aftermarket brackets fit? Can I use some lowering brackets/sliders and Corbeau side-mount brackets to adapt to those?

I thought I talked to someone and they said the buddy club rails fit, because that was going to be my plan. Those are super low. Not 100% sure though, and it may have been that they needed minor modification.

I put used Forza's in my car for this year's autocross and made brackets myself. They literally sit right on the floor in the rear. I work at a fab shop though. Any light welding and fab shop should be able to get you something custom and retain the Corbuea sliders for 100-150 per side, which is right on par with what pre-fabbed brackets sell for.

Again, if the Forza fits, the FX should fit too, I wouldn't worry about that. I just don't think others have put them in. When the time comes and mine are ruined, I'll upgrade to the FX if nothing else comes along.

Steve - Guessing by your post you used the corbeau sliders, bolted them to the seat and then made some brackets to bolt the corbeau sliders to the s2000 floor pattern. Any chance you can post a picture of what the bracket you made looks like to get a general idea of how you did this? That would be awesome. Thanks

Also how much weight you drop going to this setup over stock? Are you using harnesses or stock belt and if so, how did you make that work? I assume this was all for STR purposes? Thanks!
