Come on now PorkChop - I think our current tire trailers are the best solution available.
Let's see...
We have this one:
It holds all of the tires and some of the support stuff - jack, tools, air tank.
It keeps up okay - but not great - no vtec here...
and this one:
It holds all of the tires and most of the support stuff - and a small cooler - AND female co-driver's GIANT overnight bag.
It keeps up the best by far (has that vtec thing).
and sometimes we get this one:
It holds everything and then some. Big cooler, all of the tires, that overnight bag...
It doesn't keep up very well at all.

I'm guessing a similar design would work with an S2K, but S2K tires/wheels are a lot wider/bigger than Miata tires!
One idea I've always wondered about was those hitch-mounted storage trays like this:
Some obvious potential problems:
-hangs pretty low, so it would probably scrape on every driveway/speed bump
-the weight would be entirely tongue weight, so that seems like a lot of stress on the hitch

If anyone tries this, please let me know. I was planning on putting three around the passenger seat and one in the trunk, but if i can get two on the trunk lid then maybe i can get a passenger in there too. thinking about the 400 pound weight capacity of the car though.... good thing im skinny.

I would not use the hitch type that they are showing on the jeep. Because of the way the hitchs are mounted on the S, you would bend up your trunk floor. The best way to do it is get a small trailer from harbor freight and tow them.
That is what I do with my tires....or I tow the car on a car trailer.

Hello
I have a new trailer hitch design and from going to autocross events have had a few people ask me for one so I will be selling them.
It is quickly removed when not in use and uses three hard points 7lbs. that bolt on the car at the bumper attachments and rear suspension subframe using existing fasteners (no drilling required).
If interested will take some pictures to post.
