any ap2's running 4.44's at the track?
even with a 2/3 mile + front straight, I barely get into 6th gear with the stock 4.1's and am in 2nd gear a lot more than I would like.
anyone running 4.44's with 2.2L? I figure bumping the rev limiter to about 8300 should get me 144mph ish with the 4.44's.....
That is fast enough for damn near everywhere (not road atlanta, but...)...
anyone....anyone.... bueller...
I need to get a bunch more power to the ground if I plan to keep up in Honda Challenge... i have 500lbs more to haul around than a B20 that is making more hp than me.
thanks

The gears are a very track dependent modification Scot. In general, the shorter the gearing, the more shifts, and therefore, more time off the gas. There is a sweet spot where the increase in acceleration outweighs the number of shifts, and this is determined by shift points on the track, which of course are different for every track.
Try breaking down each track into shift points with the 4.10's, then translate those speeds with the scenario of using 4.44's (assuming identical lap times). This should give you a rough idea of where and when you will be shifting with the 4.44's. You may or may not like what you find out. If that is too much work, put the 4.44's in and if you win, keep 'em. If you lose to the H4's, take 'em out

I do. Going back to 4.10's tho.
4.44s works fine, I just don't use 2nd enuf. far more torque in the lower gears.

I thought it may be easier on me to just buy a spare diff with 4.44's already in, than to have my gears swapped.....
LMK.

I'm swapping diffs, but had planned to keep the 4.44s as my spare. I might be willing to trade but my 4.44s and that diff are -well- used. (over 3years)

know anyone with a 4.44 that they want to sell?
I'm actually in the same boat as you, about to take the plunge in my 2.2 also.
