Default Any issues running TOO MUCH pad?

Any issues running XP10/XR3 track pads with cooling ducts on for AutoX events?

Curious about issues with not getting enough heat in them and eating rotors, pad wear, brake effectiveness.

Thanks!

I ran project MU club racer brake pads at laguna seca and it would lock up my tires making me skidish. I was on 350TW tires tho. i ran stock pads and felt brake fade after 15-18min

The different Carbotech XP compounds are for different heat ranges. If the pads and disks don't get hot enough you'll suffer excessive pad/rotor wear and less than stellar braking. The XP10s with brake ducts for autocross will most likely run too cool.

It's not about locking up the brakes. If track pads (high heat) don't operate in their designed heat range they won't perform the way they should. Pedal feel will suffer and they will usually make a lot of noise during street driving too. For autocross you'd probably be best off with a "high performance street" pad.
