anyone autocrossed a '02?
I've been autocrossing my 02. This is my first year autocrossing though so I'm lacking in experience. (I've trophied twice though!
) Everything is completely stock right now but after riding in a 01 with Khumo tires I will be getting a better tire for next year. Huge difference.

Yes, I've autox'd both. I own and race an '01, but have autox'd Pete Berta's blue '02. There was no significant difference in car feel, although I did not drive them back to back on the same day.
Were you just asking to find out if anyone has done it or did you have a specific question?

I'm just trying to compare notes. I too drove a friend's '02 at an event during a fun run but not back to back with my '01. I felt that the '02 was more controllable at the limit and had a rear end that was slightly better planted. That said, on that particular car, the LSD seems to behave in a more binary fashion...
I rode along in a '00 and his seemed to handle so much better than my '02 does.....but he was a lot more experienced too. I just auto-x's on Sunday, and my car was pushing EVERYWHERE, I ended up having to raise my tire pressure to mad levels to correct it, and it did finally get better.

in stock suspension trim, an S2000 ('02 or pre-'02 suspension) will understeer if you go into a turn too fast. The main benefit of the '02 suspension is that the rear end is more controllable at the limit and less binary...
I autocross an 02.
So does TJ Stooker. TJ Stooker seems to do pretty good in his.
Autocross problems I have with my 02:
1) Inside wheel spin - its the worst on high grip surfaces
2) The "bad" rev limiter - don't have any problems with the "good" rev limiter. I hate the "bad" limiter so much in fact - that I think I'll toss up a separate post on the "under the hood" to see if those guys know how to fix it.
I don't think that my problems are new for '02...
Its REALLY tough to make comparisons between model years at an autox course. Tire, alignment, shock would have to be the same before you could really say that one was better than the other.
That said, I recently swapped cars for last runs with s2k2fst4me. I beat my previous times by about a 10th AND he beat his previous times by about a 10th as well. (He beat me by about 1 sec - guess I can't blame the car!)
