Anyone interested in some AP1 brake duct adapters?
Got a little bored this afternoon and started working on making some AP1 brake duct adapters for my front bumper. Usually by the end of the day I experience a good bit of fade and have even got pretty bad smoke before (stock calipers, Hawk pads, centric rotors, ATE fluid).
What I did was first transfer the outline of the bumper onto masking tape (accurate I know):
Then I modeled that up and printed a small outline template to make sure it fits. (I have some rounds a little off, but I plan on trying to get that as 100% as possible to appease my engineer OCD)
Now I am printing my adapters from a large bellmouth into a 2.5" OD section to clamp my ducts onto.
I'm planning on cutting out my bumper and having these sit over-top and slide through. Probably just use self tapping screws for the time-being into the bumper. My goal is to try and get the bell-mouth as wide as possible but I plan on going through several iterations until it's perfect.
I know adapters for the AP1 are either hard to come by or way too expensive. If these work out, I'd be willing to make them for other forum members just for the cost of material+shipping.
Thoughts? I have thick skin so if you have some good thoughts let me know and I'll incorporate!

I hate you for making these, please make them for an AP2. K thanks.
Thought about making the same thing on my AP2 and using fiberglass wrapped around a flange to hook up the ducting. Figured I would epoxy them onto the back of the bumper. Looks good though. Good luck on making them!

They should be done in the next few days. The model is finished, printing both sides tomorrow (takes about 6 hours a side). Then I am just going to paint them and order the rest of my ducting.
I can make AP2 as well, I should be able to grab a template from a local. I just know AP2 guys have a couple more options they can buy from.
A set of these costs me like $10 to make.

I can easily change the duct size. It's literally just a click to update the diameter in my model. So it won't make a difference for people to just tell me what they want.
I'll try and get on the AP2 ducts ASAP. My brother owns an AP2 so I will try and get a template from him car.
Is someone willing to help me with producing the AP2s? I'd send you out a couple if you could test fit or whatever. My brother doesn't track his car so I know he won't hack his bumper.

I guess they do make ones that go on the outside like you're doing. I wanted to make ones like the wasp ones that you glued onto the back of the bumper. No one makes that style anymore. STR doesn't allow them, but if you made ones like that, I would definitely pay real money for them. Who knows when they will change the rules again. They allow brake ducts now, just not modifications to the body to accommodate them.
