Default Anyone know what class im in?

So my first auto x with the SCCA is coming up next week . I already made some vinyl numbers placed on a sheet that is magnetic. now I have to make the class the car is in but I am unsure what the class is. If someone knows please let me know. I have a strut tower brace and 17" wheels w/ larger tires then stock. Thanks again!, Joe

I think you have a choice of either A Stock (AS) or Street Touring (ST).

I don't think the wheels and tires will put you in Street Prepared or Street Modified because the 17" wheels are OE on later year cars.

AS is where the top guys will be and they will have specific autox tires from Hoosier or Kumho. The competition will be tough.

ST IIRC is most any stock car on street tires with a treadwear of 140. There will typically be more entrants as this is where people start out.

Good luck.

Both the strut tower brace and your aftermarket wheels (being 17s and therefore not the stock size for your MY01) will put you into B Street Prepared (BSP). I just checked the 2007 rule book to confirm that...I hadn't looked at this year's yet so finding an answer to your question was a good excuse to dig into it.

Unfortunately, the S2000 is not legal in any of the Street Touring classes...

Are you going to the event at New Hampshire speedway? If so I will be there also.

Don't worry. You can change your registration on myautoevents if you want, but when you arrive and fill out the actual registration they'll get you squared away.

Takes 2 minutes to remove your tower brace, and 15min to put back your stock wheels then you can compete in A-Stock. Otherwise you are in BSP which you'll have a real hard time being competitive with your almost stock car.

You could also run SM2. Just run for fun and it won't matter.

Go out and have fun 1st. If you find yourself wanting to be competitive, I'd change back to the stock components.
