I don't know of any BS legal tires in a 265/45 and if they did I can see any street tire performing well with that much of a pinch

i usually get fastest in BS, with pax being my nemesis, gotta clean up the early runs. My car has Z2's staggered. EBC Blue pads for their excellent cold bite, and a sanner bar set to full stiff. UK alignment.

though, now that i've changed my front sway bar, header, testpipe, deleted the resonator, and have added drift knuckles. I have no idea where i class.

You can go to 17 wheels but you may have to have some custom made them stuff 225 or 235 on the front and 245 or 255 on the back. IMHO this will get you very close to a app and given the faster national courses may be the way to go. Add a big bar on the front and some trick shocks and you have a competitive package only thing you lack is a little torque which you can make up for

Does that change next year when Minimum Treadwear goes to 200?

I was thinking about that too. I'm already running 200 treadwear tires so there will be no change for me next year. That being said I could see this being a big issue for the vettes. All of the vettes in my region are running 140s. It will be interesting to see how they do next year on 200s. I still feel like the wheel width of the AP1s is a huge disadvantage in BS because it forces the car to run the narrowest tires in the class when compared to all the other competitive cars. I'd love to see AP1s dropped down to CS but that will never happen.

I wish that someone would make a competitive tire in 245x16 or 255x16. If an AP1 were able to run a 225/245 or 225/255 setup I don't feel like I'd be giving up such an edge to the rest of the class. I've spent countless hours looking for a 17x7 rear wheel with the correct offset and found nothing. I'm even having trouble finding a custom wheel maker that can do a 17x7 with at least 59mm of offset. Also, for the price of 2 custom made wheels I could get an entire STR 4 wheel/tire setup which makes this option even less appealing.

Where did the proposal to eliminate racing shocks (remote reservoir etc.) end up? Is that still scheduled for 2015 along with 200 treadwear?

I believe the proposal to restrict remote reservoir shocks in 2015 was redacted.

No change to shock rules in 2015.

I ran a AP1 for 3 years in STR, I'm glad I made the switch to a AP2!
