Default AP1 x 4 Rears

I'm looking to run 245-45-16 Ap1 rear square setup for use on my garage queen / 4 times a year track days.

My street tyre choices are RE-11 ...
My R compound options are abundent (R888, RA1, etc)

I want to avoid tapping the hubs so I was thinking about going with a spacers - Front:15mm Rear:25mm

Question: Will the spacers allow me to avoid the hub diametre issue?

Anyone else have any suggestions or running a similar setup?

Lowered on Kwv3

Thank you for your thoughts

P.S: Yes I anticipate running a softer rear sway bar or perhaps a stiffer front. But i'm interested to see how this handles with just coilover adjustments.

On my daily AP1 I run 225/50/16 street tires, on ap1 rears square setup, I just bored out 2 of them to fit on the front. It's an option

I run 5mm spacers up front to allow me to use the AP2 rears up front without boring out the wheels, but I didn't feel comfortable enough using the factory studs and got longer ones.

Do you have a picture showing the fitment on the front?

I like the idea of running spaces for a couple reasons vs. boring.

A) I can get a flushed look
B) Dont have to pay someone to bore out the two rims. I can take the money to help offset the cost of the spacers.
C) I can always sell the spacers if I decide on a different route
D) If I damaged a bored out rim, I can replace with another oem with having to get that one re-bored. *ninja edit*
E) I can run a spare tire in case of flats

I understand 5mm is about the limit on stock studs, how many turns were you able to get with the stock studs?

typically with non stag setups, the square tire size will only increase oversteer, non stag guys typically go with only a big front sway with a stock or no rear sway to dial out the oversteer. I would think 225x4 would be oversteer city with an aftermarket rear sway. General rule of thumb (and i mean GENERAL) is that if your on a staggered setup then a rear sway is fine and is totally dependent on the driver. I run the stock ap1 sizes 205/225 with eibach bars, front on stiff, rear on soft with bilstein pss coilovers. I went to a track a month or so ago and the car pretty much handled like stock with the exception that everything was a tad bit stiffer with faster weight transition. I didnt notice any more increased oversteer over stock.

Im running 3mm spacers on my fronts and it gets right at 5-6 turns. Anything less than that and you should go for extended studs. Extended studs are kinda a pia unless you already plan on doing wheel bearings. The other type of bolt on spacers i would feel comfortable on at the track. They tend to loosen easily and ive seen catastrophic failures with them.

It has been several years, but I think I got 4-5 turns. However, when I took it out for a quick run on a curvy road and got it back home, I had to retorque it pretty good. This happened at least twice, so I punted and got the longer studs. YMMV
