Default AP2 rear subframe/rear control arm upgrade for AP1?

A good friend of mine who is a member on here informed me of the 04+ changes honda did on the rear of the car to improve stability in corners. I have a desire to upgrade my 01 model to improve stability and am seeking information on this.

I tried to search but came up short handed. Im not sure what was all changed and i am wondering if someone can chime in and tell me. I thought it was the control arms and subframe that was changed but i need to know for sure.

I'm running an AP2 rear subframe and upper control arms on my AP1. The rest of the components are all original AP1.

Good to know. Did you notice any differences with the components? I'm assuming you noticed the difference in handling.

It's hard to say. I made a bunch of other changes at the same time. I only did it because I had to pull the subframe to remove the gas tank anyway.

Hmmm. Well the good news is that it bolts in...but it already figured that.

I prefer the handling of a bumpsteer kit on an AP1 over the AP2. So if you don't already have an AP2 subframe and RUCA, I would just spend the money on a J's Rear Bumpsteer kit. Much less labor intensive, too. This goes double time if you are lowered.

Thank you for the input. Hard labor doesn't bother me. I do not have an anti bump steer kit on my car, but now I will look into it. Are you saying a rear bump steer kit is equivalent to an AP2 sub frame and RUCA?

The bumpsteer kit helps correct the bumpsteer problem commonly associated with the AP1 rear. It will get the rear to act much more like the AP2 rear from my understanding. Definitely cheaper than doing an entire subframe swap and there are tons of fast guys out there with AP1s.

A lot cheaper, and much easier!

What was changed in the AP2 subframe that would require swapping it in if also swapping in the AP2 suspension bits?
