I'm gonna be running at golden gate fields this weekend at a regional scca auto-x.

On loose surfaces should I bother with my hooisers or should I just stick to my ra1's?

 

what's a loose surface

 

new pavement/concrete? been there and it sucks ass. better bring the garden gloves to wipe off all the loose pavement.

 

it's not new pavement but older pavement that likes to shed it's "rocks" over the course of the day.

I've never been but I've heard interesting stories.

 

You might be just as fast on the RA1s since Hoosiers tend to pick up all that asphalt on to the tires and make them much less effective.

 

I didn't find a significant difference between Kumho ECSTA V700s and Bridgestone S-03s on that surface! Actually, the V700s turned marginally better but the S-03s braked better. 3 runs on the V700s then 2 on the S-03s. Fastest time was the second run on the S-03s, by 1.2 seconds over the fastest run on the V700s. Partly due to practice on the course, but under "normal" course conditions you wouldn't see those tires so close.

I vote for RA-1s. I've been told that GGF absolutely destroys Hoosiers.
