My freind was probally drunk of the pepsi he was drinking last nite, because he told me that his suspension on the GTI is better and will leave me in the dust on an autoX.... I laughed, but is there any truth to that? His is completely stock, only thing he has done was drop the car with diffrent springs not shocks. He gets kinda close in straight line (he tries), but i always end up pulling on him. He is running no exhaust pretty much, intake, turbo tuner, carbon fiber hood, and thats about it. I still end up pulling on him though. Its funny. But yea how do you think the S2000 will fare against him in autoX? I think the R32 would probally be a better match up in autoX. He also was talking about that the fastest GTI he has seen is one that does 9.9 or something. I could not back that up with anything though cause our cars where not made for drag, but i told him that the AEM S2000 does 12.0, anyone know of any other times?

 

Unless you are a very poor driver you should whoop him in AutoX.

If you are booth rookies it would be a drivers race. But in terms of actual autoX performance capability the S2000 is classified in A Stock while the GTI is G Stock. There is no comparison between the two cars in terms of autoX performance.

Go to SCCA, then look for Events, and the results.... No comparison, not even close to the same stock...
Or just go HERE and show him. s2000 = A stock, GTI = G stock.... just tell him he has to make it to F, then E, then D, then C, then B, then he can try to compete.

 

Also, make sure to tell him he is in the same stock as the mini cooper s. Just to make things a little funnier! Looks like minis do really good in the G stock! So he has to beat a mini first!

 

Having auto crossed a FWD car years ago, you should destroy him. With out LS FWD cars are not that great in Auto-x

 

In florida ive seen stock class S2000's take fastest time of the day no less than 6 times. And we have about 5-7 GTI's that make it out on race tires and all fairly often.
