Default AutoX data logging

For 2008, I plan on getting the MaxQ GPS. For those that have used it, I would like feed back. Is the 5 hz adequate or should I pay a little more for the 10 hz?

OOOH!!! I want to try it!

But I don't know about the 5hz or 10hz thing. So I'll stop spamming your thread.

I have the MQ200-RT and love it! It uses the exact software s the MQGPS. Which is a very cool feature. Also, Ed at MaxQData listens to the autocross folks and has made several quick changes to the software to accommodate us.

BTW, I have it configured my MQ200-RT following way...maybe I'm remembering A2 and A3 backwards.

A0: MAP
A1: TPS
A2: Brake (on=voltage/off=no voltage)
A3: VTEC (on=voltage/off=no voltage)
P0: Not configured
P4: RPM
Internal accelerometer: G's
GPS: for course map, speed, and G's
ODBII: constantly monitoring AIT and Coolant Temperature, but use for calibration/settings and reading/clearing check engine codes

If you like, I would be happy to share my data files at Nationals (missing my day 1's fastest run) along with Sirbunz's day 1 runs with the MQGPS (5Hz model). That way you can get a good feel between the two.

It is a tough call to choose between the 5Hz and 10Hz, but the more frequent updates the better, especially for how quick the elements are with autocrossing. If I had to choose between the two, I would pony up for the 10Hz, but if it puts things out of reach, the 5Hz is a very good product. Also, take a look at ebay for locating a good used PDA... you can save some bucks there as I did.

Bringing this topic back to life to ask what device I should get now that MaxQ seems to be defunct. Any suggestions for auto-x applications?

Im using a 5Hz and is works great. But It would be nice to have a 10Hz.

So, it you can manage to get the 10Hz, DO IT. If not, the 5Hz will be fine.

Thanks...but MaxQ does not seem to be in business anymore...at least they are not selling any of the products (like the 10 hz) that I would want, and frankly they don't seem to be supporting their product now either. I don't know what other products (brands, etc.) are available or preferred for auto-x applications...so am hoping for some input on that.

I would have purchased the Quantum 10 hz, but it's never in stock, and MaxQ will not communicate about anything.

Thanks again,

I use a Racelogic Performancebox. It is a 10Hz unit. I would opt for the 10Hz sampling.
