Bringing this topic back to life to ask what device I should get now that MaxQ seems to be defunct. Any suggestions for auto-x applications?
I have a Race Technology DL1. It's a very powerful unit that has tons of flexibility, but it's pretty-near impossible to use between autocross runs to figure out how you can improve your driving unless you're very fast with a laptop. I've made the decision that I gain more time by watching my in-car video and doing self-analysis than looking at the DL1 data.

Learning the software is like learning a new language. Once you figure out the basics you can see some neat stuff. Then given more experience you can start playing and experimenting.

The key is being able to read the data. Anyone can data-log, its what you do with it and what it tells you.

In my opinion race technology's software is VERY easy to learn yet quite powerful. Good software should be your number one priority when picking a data logger.
