Bald RE070's for the track?
Hey guys,
I have a set of almost bald Bridgestone RE070's laying around. Other than that they are in good shape (no belts showing, etc - just the tread is almost fried). Provided the weather is good (no rain), would these tires be acceptable for a track weekend?

Agree with the other posters... track tires you can often take to the cords but street tires no way, likely they're heat cycled to death or so fragile you could end up in the armco.
However, to Mr. Garrison's comment.... I went to a track weekend once with spare rears in tow because I knew they'd only last 1 day. At this weekend, this club actually had track AND drift going on, so at the end I went to the drift track.
1. The drift guys were way cool and helpful for a 'newbie' like me trying to figure out how to help a guy drift a car specifically setup to NOT do that, and to try to drift the sort of meat I was running; 245-50 16 rears with all the neg camber I could get.
2. It was a weird experience, my first time trying to 'drift' (not just doing doughnuts) as every instinct in my body is to correct for that kind or situation, not perpetuate it.
3. It was a blast... I totally sucked at it, but the drift crowd was cool and encouraging (I had a ride-along 'instructor) and I did it until one of the tires gave up entirely. It was a ton of fun.
