Default Best tire for B Street AP1

Hello all,

Just wondering what the best tire for the new B Street for an AP1 on stock wheels?

Thanks

I have run Hankook RS3 tires. They have always worked well for me as I am on my second set.

I hated RS3's on my AP1. I think the Z2 is ultimately faster also. Stiffer sidewall handles the pinch better. I was running 225 all around.

I have a 2008 CR with offset wheels. It's my daily driver and I track it regularly. I run Bridgestone RE11. 225/40 17 on the front and 255/45 17 on the rears.

Thread Revival!

On a AP1 are people running the same size tire(225) all around even though the wheels are heavily staggered?

What tire do you use?

Did you consider 225 square?

on an AP1, I'd try to find some stock width 17" wheels and run 215/235 R1Rs.

For SCCA Solo Street class the fronts would need to be 17x6.5 et55 (stock) down to ET47 (1/4" allowance)
I did some searching and the only 17x6.5 wheels I could find in that range were some wheels from Honda Accord, CR-V, or Acura CL/TL.
The rears would have to be 17x7.5 et65 (stock) down to et 57 (1/4" allowance) and I couldn't find anything in that size with the correct bolt pattern.

TireRack doesn't sell any aftermarket 17" rims narrower than 7" so OEM fronts would be the only choice. They may have 17x7.5 rims for the back in the allowable offset range, but you'd be running mismatched wheels front to rear.

I just recently purchased an '03 AP1 with Dunlop Z1's in the OEM size and will be running those in Street Class on OEM wheels with 1/4" spacers. If I were buying new, I'd run the Dunlop ZII's in 225/50/16 front and rear. The allowable rim size for that tire is 6"-8".
