Default Beware Powerslot Rotors

I've been running Napa rotors on the front for every track event and basically replacing them for every event. They are so cheap ($35 a piece) it's a no brainer.

Well, I guess everyone figured this out becasue they are on national backorder. So I decided to upgrade to powerslot rotors to check them out.

After a particularly aggressive 40 min track session with 2 people in the car (which the Napa's never had even a slight issue with even after two full hard days), I come in and let the car cool.

After about 3 minutes I hear a loud WHACK!!! I look at the left front and the rotor is cracked all the way through on both sides. I pull the right front to check it out and half way through loosening the lugs, another WHACK!!!! Scared the bejeezus out of me.

Fortunately, I had my old trusty NAPA rotors there. These things are obviously for show rather than go as I've never had an issue even on longer faster sessions with the NAPAs in the middle of July. Go figure.

that's crazy. I've got them right now and I guess they've worked well since you don't do much braking in autox. good thing I can't afford track sessions

Maybe. What the rest of us do is buy OEM rotors (or cheap knockoffs like "NAPA rotors"). But feel free to pay more if you want.

OEM rotors with the right pads and fluid are more than adequate for most lapping days on this car.

All,
I've used the Powerslot slotted rotors for two track events and don't detect any issues. Were your rotors drilled and slotted?
I use the new formula Cobalt XRs. Any way that your front brake pins were jammed? (I had that happen once.) Any possibility that the fault could be with anything but the rotors? I'm going for competition time over the next road coarse event with Powerslots and any input will be helpful. Thanks.
BTW, I went with Powerslot because I killed my OEMs and just wanted to see if the slotted rotors would help keep the heat down.

Slotted rotors can't possibly keep the heat down. Sorry.

They could be better in some other way, but in terms of heat transfer they can only be worse.
