Spent last weekend at gingerman in south haven and several times during turn 10 (long high speed right hand) i seemed to lose significant power as well as blowing out blueish smoke out the tailpipes. after the car straightened out power regained and smoke cleared. I thought it could be low oil pressure due to the high G forces which would explain the loss of power but what about the smoke? is this blow-by? any help explaining this to me and a way to prevent it in the future would be appreciated!

Common issue (you can search around on the UTH forum for more detailed info, I'm sure). Oil gets sucked into the PCV, put back into the intake and burned off. Lots of smoke, loss of power, etc, etc.
Add an oil catch can to resolve the problem.

Oil passing through the PCV is dilluting the fuel mixture causing the loss of power and naturally the blue smoke. A catch tank will solve this.
just kidding. its perfectly normal.

I went through the same steps, repeated step 4 a half dozen times, then found a nice "cozy" spot for it.
I'll post a pic this weekend.

I keep thinking maybe if my battery would die I could replace it with one of those small modern high cranking power models, then I could fit it up there. Originally I had thought it would be great up there, but the silly a/c line is like right in the way.
Then I though maybe use the mount point for the horn and move to the horn to another place. The STB would give me a great place to run the lines using tie wraps.
I must say though, the can looks really nice on the garage shelf.
