hose was a semi fabric type hose that is usually used for air intake tubing...

apologies for being slow with pics but i'm a tech idiot and dont have a proper digicam. will get it up soon.

why was the dryer vent tubing a mistake?

you can use either of them.

top hose from Autozone, about $15 for 6ft. this is weaker and not heat resistant as bottom hose, but I never had problem.

bottom hose is what most racers use. find them in any race shops. heat resistant. about $50 for 6ft. this is stronger.

^^^ though being heat resistant it was terrible to work with, far to thin and fragile, it needs to be flexible and more durable. Tin is not your friend in this case. Thanks for the tips.
