pics working for me... the surface looks shinny. and a little bit burnt on the edges.

Ya my rotors look fine.. the look a little bit glossy but id imagine that the new pads will fix that? make them look more machined look.

Anyone here experience carbotech panther+ pads? Im looking for something that i can use for street and track.(2-4 track days a year) The other ones that i found are the cobalt GT Sports and the Hawk HPS pads.. any suggestions

the Colbalt GT-S pads are out of stock for a while now ..so I don't think you can actually buy them right now.

HPS pads will not stand up well to track use, as it is still more of a street sport pad.
If you want to go street/track , the HP+ is a good choice. Just it is hella loud, but so are the Colbalts to a lesser degree

what is your budget for pads? If your budget is a bit higher, then you can try Endless pads. They seem to work well for both street/track.

Well if all im gettin is pads the i dont mind spending 50% more but it all kind of depends on how long thy will last... i dont want to be replacing them after 2 track days.
I'm guessing the best thing to do would be change the pads at the track (i dont really care if they are loud at the track) and switch back to oem for the ride home..
If at all... i'd really like to have something that works for both.
BKL are you running the hawk HP+ pads front and rear? Do you swap pads on track days?

I am running HP+ for the front and stock for rear.

I run these on the street 24/7. Its loud as hell, but I don't care that much.

If you are going to swap at the track, then you can go even more hardcore.

Like the Hawk HT10 or Blue

To add to Racer: OEM pads and rotors DO work well for short term track use...I have two track days down and 27.5k miles on my AP2...haven't experienced boilling over yet and there were no signs of brake fade to my surprise. I don't plan on doing anything to the brakes just yet, because the OEM combo seems to work very well...

Oh yeah, I'm still on the original fluid that came with the car...

If anything, I may just upgrade to the Endless pads...

Only happened when braking hard coming off of a straight. The track that i usually am on has two straights and come to a 90 corner...so braking down from 150-160km/h to 60-80 is common.

talk to danny puskar at carbotech, their brakes are awesome or track, great modulation and very easy to use for trail braking etc. hawks have bad modulation and if you need to brake mid corner for any reason the hawks tend to upset the car. i would suggest replacing the rotors before getting track pads and bedding the track pads in with the new rotors and swapping the rotors and factory pads for when you drive on the street

With 27.5k miles and two track days, your brake pads should be at, or below the wear limit which is 3mm. It would be safe to assume that you put a lot of easy miles during the last 27k miles.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from the endless pads.
