Default Brake Pads

I'm currently shopping for brake pads right now. During my search, I came across the Hawk Performance HP Plus pads. I would like to know what people thought of them. One concern of mine involves rotor life. Also, if anybody has any suggestions as to what other performance pads that are good, please tell me. My first two options are a little out of my price range, so any bang for the buck options would be good. But I'm really considering the Hawk pads, so unless someone tells me they completely suck, I may purchase them soon. I appreciate any help.

Edit: I would also like some opinions on Hawk Blue 9012 brake pads.

You might want to be more specific with your request for information (i.e. what you're going to use them for).

Well, I do need them for a track day at Laguna Seca this month. But I also plan some street miles on them between track events, as my car is my daily driver. That's why rotor wear is a big concern of mine.

I'm running the cobalt gt sports. I have had good results at the track and I have been runnin them on the streets. A little bit of dust on the wheels.

HP+ should be fine for your purposes. The Hawk HPS are the best in terms of low noise/dust/rotor wear, but I'm not sure they'd handle an intense track day. The HP+ will dust more and eat away the rotor a bit faster, but nothing too serious. Just know they won't have great bite when they're cold.

It's so easy to change pads, no reason to compromise. Run track pads for the track (Cobalt XBR2) and street pads for street. Street pads on rear will work fine if you only want to change fronts.

Hawk blues will destroy your rotors quickly if driven on the street.

Race pads for track and OEM pads for street. Optimal performace for each situation, and cheaper in the long run.

Hawk HT-10 front with Blacks or Blues or HP+ rear are what I used for the past 2 years on the track, but there are many options.

eh I run the cobalts on the street almost all the time on my street car.

But I don't care about dust. even cold I find they work better than my oem pads.

you don't care about going through rotors either though (or screaming brakes)

rlaifatt, any reason you don't run HT-10's front and rear?
