Default Brakes & AutoX

So after my first autocross i think i would like some more stopping power. I think i want to go with the password JDM front rotors along with hawk HPS pads for front and rear. My question is will this make me ineligible for B stock Street tire index? And if it does what other setup could i try(no password JDM rotors?).

Go for cheaper rotors. Centric premiums are a great buy and the HPS should be good for autocross.

Focus on getting faster with what you currently have before spending money, especially on brakes. There are many competitors, myself included, that use the stock pads.

Don't get HPS pads. Worst I've ever experienced. Softer and less bite than OEM on the street, utterly unusable at the track.
OEM would be a much better option for any usage.
HP+ would be a good choice for more bite, I use them at the track and have no complaints.

What do you mean by "stopping power"? In autocross, brake fade's not an issue, so your maximum braking force is limited by your tires, not your pads or rotors. Given that, if you want more stopping power, buy better tires.

If you want more stopping power per unit of pedal movement / effort (i.e. grabbier brakes), then changing pads is a good approach, but...

Just get accustomed to pressing harder on the pedal. As others have mentioned, the tires are the real limit on stopping force. Different pads won't change your stopping distance, they will just change what the pedal feels like while you're doing it.

+1. Stock pads got me to 5th place raw time at DC this year, and 4th place raw time at the Finger Lakes. The stock pads have good feel, and good stopping power under low heat even with Hoosier A6's and don't fade.
