Budget R-comps
I know the RC1s are tried, true, and tested, but I was helping my F80 M3 buddy try and find some track tires and stumbled on these RZ-201s by Federal, found a couple of decent youtube reviews on them, and was pleased by the price point:

Anyone run them?
Also, for the lulz...the slicks are $130, but I'm a n00b in mm sizing, so ask the experts here if these would fit on a 17x9

Now that the supply of $400/set hard compound Hankook TDs has dried up I am listening in on this. Love me some cheap tires.
RC1s are $620/set shipped right now with the Summer2018 code.

get some Hankook Ventus TD DOT R tires.

you should be able to get them for about $100 each in 255/40

I felt the same way until I got used to them, realized they had no grip/feel the first two laps / got faster the deeper in the session you were, and started running 40psi hot.

The 101 is available in a dry track and wet track tire, listed for 'competition. The 201 comes in an "S" and an "M", listed for track days, HPDE. I think there are some series that specify a Federal Tire. They also have 3 different 595RS models, all TW200 or TW220, that they indicate are of track use: Federal Tyres - UHP - 595RS-RR
Federal is in Taiwan, as is the company making a lot of the more sophisticated golf club assembly tools (i.e. shaft frequency, club moment of inertia, etc.)
Both the 240 101 and 245/255 201 tires should work on a 9" rim.
