Buttonwillow report?
I was there Saturday. Had a great time. I'd guess there were about 15-20 S2K's there. The weather was pretty nice for a track day, not too hot. We got a lot of track time thanks to the Wurthmotorsports format. I put about 160 track miles and 2 tanks of gas on my car
. Toasted my R4-S pads. I definitely need to get some ducting and maybe switch pads. The track was fun, and fast. There were at least 4 different places on the track where I was hitting triple digit speeds. Not as much fun as Thunderhill but still quite a fun track. All in all, it was a great day. I truly love track days now. A year and a half ago I'd be lucky to see 2 other S2000's at a track day. Now it's usually like 20-30.

Excellent time! Weather Saturday was cool and cloudy but dry. The S2000s made a strong showing with many in the top 10 times dispite a gaggle of C5s and Z06s. I got my ass kicked by a guy in Irvine who bettered my times by at least 5 seconds. He said it was pure luck but I smell a ringer
We did figure out that an average sized passenger costs about 2s/lap on this track. Aaron and I had a good time laying down the smack. Driving in the rain on Sunday was different. I was running S-02's and they handled superbly. I turned a 2:50 after lunch with lots of standing water and rain with an average speed of 65 MPH down from 2:20 @ 75 MPH a day earlier. The S02s were much better in the wet than the dry due to them overheating after about the 5th lap. From the 6th lap on they got really greasy. In the wet they were fantastic.
As strike said, there were 4 sections of 100+ (2 sections in the rain). Top speed on Saturday was 114 and 103 on Sunday (for me). Knowing who was running faster really made a HUGE difference because I was able to find the quicker drivers and find out what they were doing that I wasn't. I discovered some places I was going just too slow and made some adjustments during the day which really improved my times.
I had only one off track excursion over the weekend when I went to pass another S2000 coming into Lost Hills. I knew I shouldn't have done it almost immediately but it was too late. Lost Hills, in the config we were running, is a 70 MPH+ right-left with the right apex at the top of a small hill. If you hit the entry right on the outside then it's a straight shot between the two apexes WOT. If you are too far inside then you need to turn right at the top of the hill to make the second apex. If you blow it the only recourse is to drive straight off. Because I was making the pass I didn't follow my line choosing to stay wide of the first apex to avoid the car I was passing. Other than that is was all pavement.
On Sunday the track was nearly empty but there were a lot of cars being towed out of the mud.

i had a blast. put on some #3 pads from The Brake Man to replace my dead R4's (2 days of laguna, an autocross, street use and 2 sessions at bw). those worked great! had a small electrical fire in my trunk from a wire on a 7.5A circuit that shorted out. that was nuts, especially since the fuse didn't blow. Running with transponders was a lot of fun, it's nice to be able to compare times and track progress thru the day.
Overall it was a great weekend! Many thanks to john and aaron at wuthmotorsports for another excellent event with much more track time for the buck than i've found anywhere else!!!!

Warren, The Brake Man, came to do some brake testing, as I have the Pinnacle brake system. The hat of the rotors were quite cool compared to stock, but he was measuring between me and the 'fast ones' from the Bay Area. Perhaps he should have measured between me and others in my run group who have more similar lap times. All lap times within groups seemed to improve as the day progressed.
Thanks to josh3io who let my son ride in his car top down in the rain; my son and I had much fun.

I was one of the cars that Warren tested with Temp paint... I could not believe how hot the hubs got let alone the rotors.
The hubs burned out the 400Deg paint easily.... the rotors went upto i dont know what.. and thats with ducting to the rotor eye via BulletProof ducts. Prolenes temp paint on the hubs of his Pinnacle system was untouched.
