I'm 6 ft, 200 lbs. I have no issues with shifting or the shifter. Only issue I have is the pedals are pretty far away. But it works

te farther you go with race prep, the more awkward the whole thing gets. The adrenaline will take your mind off of it. I shared a seat in a chump car that put my shins agains the crossbar, my elbows were very bent and it was really hard to straighten my arms after a 24 hour event, the shifter took wrist to throw into 2nd and 4th because it was behind me. You couldn't see anything in the mirrors With the window net and halo seat......
the point is is very few cars get better, or stay nearly the same in comfort or visibility once you go that direction.

Also my car has "NASCAR" bars on the drivers side. A little safer and easier ingress/egress.
My cage probably cost more than most, but really worth the extra to get it right

If you have any questions let me know.
Answers to the typical questions:
- I am 6' and have good headroom above and to the sides after modifying the buddy club rails with some custom brackets
- I hammered the floor down with a 5lb sledge so the seat is actually a little sunken down by about .5"
- My seat is in the second from the farthest back position on those those rails
- The clutch master is out of a civic to allow for more clearance for the forward bars.
- the outer gusseting on the "high X bone" portion of the tunnel only weighs about 22lbs and its a shitload of work to remove
- the hardtop is a forbidden double carbon and its been gutted so that the cage sits about 3-5mm away from the outer layers for max headroom

Here's a few more pics I haven't sent you yet but if there's any measurements or details shots that you're interested in, let me know. As mentioned previously in this thread, try and get the plinth for the A-pillar down bars to protrude less in to the footwell. The entire structure can but integrated to the rocker even if you don't gut the A-pillar itself.

^ your door bars look amazing! i dont like how that foot box is next to your leg tho, gutting the a-pillar and doing it there seems so much better.
i really like how you even retained the oem door bars!

InsaneSp----That looks great. One thing I like on that is:
nascar bars should meet the vertical tube so that if you were T-boned the horizontal bars would be in compression with the vertical bar it's welded to below the A-pillar (likewise for the rear) When you have an S bend in the horizontal the bar is more likely to shear away from the vertical bar.
I hope that that makes sense. By no means am I a cage builder but I read everything I could find before I had my civic caged
