True. Also, I've never driven on Hoosiers.

the biggest draw back is the tires, not the less grip persay but the fact that i have a lot of hoosiers and then i need to go buy a couple of sets of toyos... i do everything i can for as little as possible... adding 2k in tires is more than i have spent on tires in the last 3-4 years

Easy, just sell one of the many sets of Hoosiers and buy one set of Toyo RR and give it a try. A no cost solution, maybe, just a thought.

gut the a-pillar and put the bar/foot box on the body rail not the floor. more ankle room more room in general
I found a chassis/cage builder that is willing to gut the a-pillars and build the cage in a-pillar voids. I still need to discuss price with him, so not sure if I'll go that route. Pictures of what I want will be integral to that discussion.

The above links show some good pictures; thanks! There was another popular thread in the NASA AZ forum that showed lots of detailed pictures, but the post no longer links to those pictures. http://forums.nasaaz.com/showthread.php?t=5047

If anyone here knows the car owner or another way to access the pictures, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Awesome looking cage. A few questions: is the bar above the driver's seat near the helmet? It seems helmet clearance is often a problem in seat selection, etc. Was there a plan to gusset the door bars? If going through the door, why was the S-curve used on the door bars? Why was the lateral bar run behind the diagonal rather than to it on the passenger side, and from it on the driver's side? What is mounted on the tabs on the front hoop?
