In Car Camera Options
Hey,
I'm looking to get an in car camera for use in my car and my dad's race car. Here are the features that I think I need:
I don't need a super fancy camera. It doesn't need to fit in my pocket. I think a Mini-DV camera would be good - I already have some in car footage on that media.
Can you think of any more features that would be nice to have for the in-car racecam application?
So any ideas on what camera would be good?
Thanks!

I'm looking to get an in car camera for use in my car and my dad's race car. Here are the features that I think I need:
- can be powered with a 12 Volt supply - maybe a cig lighter (I don't want to worry about keeping batteries charged at the track)
- remote to start / stop recording -- doesn't need to be wireless - It's just tough to move once I'm belted into the race car
- very bright record light (maybe on the aforementioned remote) -- so that I don't wonder if I started or stopped it
- remote microphone jack
- remote video jack -- so I have the option of doing some cone cam stuff
- some kind of anti-vibration image stabalization
- manual focus (or auto focus off)
- something to loop the "security strap" through
- timestamp in playback mode - so I can determine my lap times
- maybe ability to dump the footage to computer so I can share footage with y'all
