Default Chuckwalla Valley Raceway Jan. 26 Open Lapping

Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Desert Center, California (50 miles east of Indio off I-5) is having an open lapping day for cars on Wed. Jan. 26, 2011. Price is $225. You will get more track time than you could possibly desire. I was there last weekend and the weather was beautiful. If you haven't run Chuckwalla yet, this is the best time of year to go.

The track is really a lot of fun, and flows very well with sequences of turns that fit together nicely. I like this track at least as much as Buttonwillow, and way more than Streets of Willow and ACS Roval and Infield. IMHO, it's the next best road course in SoCal (after WSIR, which I am crazy about).

Hey Richard, did they ever get to install a permanent gas pump? Also, is the pit area still an empty parking lot or did they put in some kind of a shaded area?

There are permanent gas pumps, but for some reason, it's not self serve. There is an attendant who pumps the gas, and then you go pay for it in the office if you are using a credit card. Maybe the credit card machines on the pumps just aren't working yet.

There is no shade in the paddock, other than easy ups that people bring and behind the trailers at certain times of the day. The next phase of the project is to build garages at track #1, but they haven't started yet.
