To those who have deleted their OEM instrument clusters on AP1s to use aftermarkets dashes, like say the AEM CD-7, what have you done about the VSS input that goes into the cluster and is scaled and then output to the EPS?

You can emulate the signal with your EMS

Im running an AEM Infinity, do you know specifically what I would have to do to the signal? I assume I would use a low side output and I have seen somewhere that the raw VSS signal needs to be divided by 40 to be the correct format for EPS.

Yeah they were also using aem infinity so it’s possible but I don’t have the details. Sorry!

That is the right idea. The VSS runs at about 200K PPM (Pulse Per Mile) and the EPS want a 4K PPM. I used the Dakota Digital SGI-5 (https://www.dakotadigital.com/pdf/SGI-5e.pdf) do handle the conversion.

I also ran the car for a year without any VSS signal to the EPS. I only felt it missing in the pits. On the track, there is no difference.

So is it possible to just use the Infinity to create a VSS signal? Like when you swap in a CD009 transmission, they don’t have a speed sensor at all and I’d like to avoid buying another part for a VSS signal.
