Default Code reader

Any recommendations on a code ready brand? Last time I was at the track the car went into limp mode and it would have been nice to know why vs just disconnecting the battery and heading back out.

Code readers can be had for 40 bucks.

Go the extra step, and get a small scanner that also has data stream and can look at monitors. Few hundred tops.

Check out Torque and similar apps for smart phones. I use cheap ($15) eBay Bluetooth OBDII readers with no problems.
