Comptech Swaybar Durability
The original Comptech adjustable swaybar had problems with cracks starting at the adjustment holes and splitting the bar in two. I remember that they revised it with a metal sleeve welded into each hole, but the weld would break and the bar would then crack.
Have they gotten the cracking problem under control? I realize that a lot of people have migrated to the Gendron front bar, but I'm not so keen about the bar ends rubbing the steering rod dust covers, or about the scary-looking angles that the end links make with the mounting points at some settings.
Someone told me that the main reason he switched to the Gendron was to go stiffer than the Comptech. For me, that's probably not an issue since I've got a 2005, so I don't need as stiff a front swaybar. It seems like the Comptech is shaped more like the stock bar, so the clearances should be better.
Has anyone had problems with the Comptech bar?

Someone local had a brand new bar develop some slop and start to clunk about a year ago.
LudeDude, at first I thought "we" meant Comptech, but you just meant yourself and co-driver, right?

This clunk was due to an enlarged adjustment hole allowing the inner bar to rotate a few degrees inside the outer bar.
The Comptech seems like a great design other than that small worry. Being shaped like the stock bar and not having to worry about endlinks binding up are both big advantages over the Gendron. I was close to getting one for myself to see how lucky I was, but then I found a great deal on a used Gendron bar. So I'll see how lucky I am with that.
