Default Cooling temp to high when tracking.

I have a S2000 which I run on the track. problem is that I after about 10 minutes driving in full attack will have a high water temperature (220 degrees).
I've driven on the track for 14 years any I know my cars, but I am a cheep bastard who don´t like to spend money unnecessary.

4 years ago I had an s2000 turbo and had the same problem. I bought a Koyo radiator then but did not think it helped much.
My current setup is comptech sc which charges 11 psi, with a front mounted intercooler. ac is still there and I also have a GReddy oil cooler that blocks my original cooler. I believed in my innocence that it would work this time, but why I do not know setup is the same as my previous one except for the SC instead of turbo.
I might add that I am on both cars drove AEM ems and that I have changed in the temperature table.
Question now, is there any aftermarket coolers that are better than the original and does not cost a ton?
Is a ventilated hood the way to go, and if so which one?
Or even better if there are no easy and cheap tricks up your sleeve besides water vetter and shortshifting?
driving with a cooler thermostat and fan sensor I do not see that any solution, other than that you may be able to run 12 minutes instead of 10. I am grateful for answers

Just thinking out loud here.

The effectiveness of a cooling system depends on the heat capacity rate of both the air side, and the water side. In an extreme example, it is possible that regardless of how big of a radiator you put in that:
a) you can't get enough air through the radiator to take the heat out. The max heat you can take out is when the air enters at ambient temp, and exits the radiator at the water temp (approximately).
-OR-
b) you can't get enough water flow, the water is cooled very efficiently in the radiator, entering at the engine out water temp, and leaving the radiator at ambient temp.

Obviously you'll never get all the way to one of those two extremes. The point I was trying to make is that maybe for boosted engines, the cooling system isn't really limited by the air side and radiator size, but is limited by the coolant flow rate. Has anyone ever tried a smaller diameter water pump pulley to increase the flow rate?

Here are two threads that you might find helpful.

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/940...or-for-racing/

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/957...iator-set-ups/

Short answer. yes, a vented hood combined with proper baffling to ensure airflow is maximized will help. And yes, a better radiator (see first thread), not necessarily mishimoto or koyo, will also help. Someone mentioned that both the mishimoto and koyo actually have FEWER fins than the stock OEM rad - I haven't look into it myself, so I can't confirm that part with certainty.

pulling your AC unit will definitely help too.

Thanks for the links, pulling my AC i not a option

I will look in to forcing more air into the radiator, and see if there are any good hood vents to fit to my oem hood. I don´t like carbon hoods, and I cut holes in the hood without vents on my old S and that did not work like I wanted it to.

Your car is SCed right now and you're still seeing these high temps? What are the ambient temps when you see this happen?

By the way, I think you're nuts for just running 225s on a supercharged S

Yes my current car is SCed now, the bad thing is the outside temp when this happened was only 60 degrees and not even sunny.

My current 225 non staggerd is not the final setup . I'm wating for my 04-06 rear sway bar to balance the car a bit better.
Then I am going for a 255 setup on new rims.

Have a look on My thread

I'm yet to get change the water pump but I have a unique cooler setup and some interesting vents. Next step for me is to get some sort of undertray that helps pull air out from below the engine.
