Default CR owner question

So, a question for CR guys about your stock seats.

My stock leather seats suck for the track, as we all know. Sliding down under heavy braking is the big issue. I know I can solve that by putting some higher friction material on the seat cushion.

But, I'd like to know if the higher friction material the CR seats are made of stop the sliding pretty much as well?

Thanks!

The CR seats definitely help stop the sliding. Coupled with something like a CG lock, it will be worlds better than a leather seat. OT, it's no replacement for a raceseat.

Sounds like an option for me. Race seats aren't as this is my daily driver as well.

Anybody got some CR seats for sale?

Hmm....is it hard to take off the bottom and top seat covers....that's all I'd really need, correct?

If you want to recover bring it to a upholstery shop. They will get it right

Look into a bride or Recaro reclinables. They are expensive but work great. I loved my Recaro in my old car as the side bolsters are good

A shame they didn't offer the additional fabric options for the seats in the U.S. like they did in Japan.

The seat belt inertia lock trick works really well for me at the track. I can't say I ever have any issues moving around in the seat under braking though, just side to side movement. It is amazing how much you can improve the feel of the car with the simple lock trick. You kind of have to develop a bit of a technique to get it tightened up the right amount, but after some time I am able to get it locked in every time without having to change my seat position at all. Just sucking in my stomach and pushing myself back into the seat while tightening the belt, and lifting my left shoulder up and out of the belt before yanking it to initiate the inertia lock. Most of the nefit of having the belt locked comes from the lap belt around the hips. Side to side movement is lessened significantly and I can let the seat and belt support me rather than having to shift my legs around.

I think you may have mentioned you tried that and it didn't work well for you though maybe? Even with the CR seats though I would keep trying the lock trick or get something like a CG lock.

It's easier if you move the seat back first, lock the belt, and then slide it forward.

What would I do with the nekkid seats then? Like people said, you can get them reskinned or maybe try Wet Okoles?

Yes, I started a thread a while back about keeping myself in the seat. The seat belt inertia lock seems to work for some, but there were quite a few people that it didn't work for. The belt still would loosen up. I don't know if it's a body shape issue or a car issue, but I'll try it again with the new car I have.

The sliding down under braking itself doesn't bug me, but the fact that after every heavy braking area if have to readjust and "push" myself back up in my seat on the next straight bugs me.
