Default CR seat replacement question

I changed the driver seat for my Recaro SPG and also changed the seat belt connect so the seat belt light wouldn't come on. I noticed another sensor on the seat but I'm unsure how to disable the dash light that goes with it. It seems to be a seat position sensor or somthing. I know tons of you guys have aftermarket seats in CRs how do I fix this?

The sensor is shown below in the picture. It doesn't seem I can unbolt it from the seat easily and once off the seat I'm not sure it would work by just simply hooking it up.

Please Help!!!

I did a quick message to Robert Thorne on Facebook and I'm guessing the actual sensor is for the airbag. He didn't remember the ohm resister he used to disable the light and suggested sitting the seat on the ground and measuring it with me in it.

Does anyone know what resister I need and can tell me how to do this? I've never had to wire in a ohm resister in my life. Lol

Thanks guys! I know someone on this forum has to know the answer!

You need a multimeter. They can be had for $20. Measure the resistance (measured in ohms) of the plug. Then go to radio shack and buy a resistor to match. I would guess 1.5 or 2 ohms as that is what the airbag and seatbelt sensors are.

Josh, my solution was to just buy a spare sensor and harness. I connected it and left it "loose" under/behind the seat. It cost about $45 bucks shipped from Majestic Honda.

If you have a specialized bit set, you can just take the sensor off of the seat, connect it, and leave it loose. I believe it's a Torx bit.

You want #4 and #9.

Keep in mind, this basically "permanently enables" the driver airbag. The purpose of the sensor is to disable the airbag for the really short people who sit really close to the airbag.

You guys are great! I'll see if I can un bolt it from the seat when I get home tomorrow, if not I'll spend the $45 for the sensor!

thanks guys! I'm assuming the pass side is exactly the same way? I haven't messed with that seat yet!

The passenger seats are a much bigger pain. All 06+ S2000 passenger seats came with two weight sensors for the airbag cutoff system (designed for children). And to save an airbag deployment during a crash with no passenger.

So what do you have to do on the Passenger side?

Not exactly sure. There was a member a few years ago that used an aftermarket rail with a bucket seat, and installed the OEM weight sensors with some custom brackets. Seemed to be A LOT of work and money. The car then had to go to Honda to get the sensors recalibrated. I think 06+ S2000s are the best years, but the fact that Honda put sensors everywhere really kills it for the aftermarket seats.
