CR seat replacement question
Nobody has really "solved" it properly yet.
Most likely there should be a solution that lets you trick the car into thinking all the sensors are still there so it doesn't throw and SRS light. There is a weight and seat positions sensor as required by regulation.

thanks guys! I'm assuming the pass side is exactly the same way? I haven't messed with that seat yet!
Hopefully this gets more people motivated to find a fix for the 06+ passenger side. There has to be a way to trick the car into thinking everything is OK. I don't care how it gets around the SRS light as long as I don't have to look at one on the dash. 99.9% of the time no one is in the car but me.
I wonder if they changed something on the 08/09 with that seat position sensor? On my 06 I could just unbolt it and and then just leave it loose under the seat or ziptie it to the rail somewhere. Needs a torx bit for the bolt on my car (I've gotten lucky in the past with a flat head because the bolt wasn't beastman tight)
I think the best solution would be to somehow get a hold of the harness connectors for each part that gets unplugged and use that to make some sort of resistor setup. Not sure if I'd want to steal the ones off the actual seat or not but maybe it could be done with a quick disconnect in the middle somewhere.

I hope someone comes up with something for the passenger seat. The only other option I found might be: http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Shop...witch+Requests
From what I've seen though some people just don't care if there is an airbag light or they've gone as far as just removing the bulb from the cluster. I don't want to go down either of those roads. There has to be an easier way to fool the car into thinking everything is ok.
I don't care if it permanently enables the airbag or permanently disables the airbag on the passenger side so long as I don't have a light to look at on the dash.

Like what was mentioned before about buying another harness, the expensive way for the passenger side is to buy replacement sensors/harness that are in the seats and leave them loose. But if you want the airbag to go off in an accident, from my research, the following needs done
1.) the drivers side needs to be put in a position that does not activate the sensor (senses when seat is forward/metal is close) and or an ohm resistor.
2.) the passenger side, similar situation but way more difficult. place sensors in a position that weight will be added when needed (under replacement seat's bottom cushion) or replace harness with ohm resistors.
Explaining it is the easy part. I hadn't played with how to remove the harness and sensors yet. Looks tricky and the price to purchase the wire harness requires purchase of the slider which is like buying a gold chain. I'd just go the route of cutting the harness off some used seat sliders and wiring up resistors if you want the airbags active. This saves you from splicing into your current wire harness hondaautomotiveparts.com
tip
- you use the multimeter ohm test on the Harness that has the sensors in it.
I was going to replace both my seats but decided against it. parting out the car now.

Pretty sure there has still been no progress on the passenger issue. The weight sensor is apparently a "smart" sensor and it isn't as simple as hacking in a resistor.
I'm wondering if the Schroth Profi-II ASM with the anti-submarine inner shoulder strap and the stock passenger seat might be the best option to retain passenger airbag functionality and still improve safety over the stock 3-point.
