It doesn't really bother me... I suppose the first one is a source of pride (I'm sure the next one will piss me off more).
You have captured the essence of my personal experience in this matter.

8 events is good, I had an OEM set last only 2 track days...that was with Endless CC-R pads.

Are there rotors out there that are significantly stronger than the OEM ones?

It's not the strength, it's the thermal cycling. Free-floating rotors would have less stress on them, but carbon rotors would be ideal. And also several thousand dollars each.

The most effective solution, cost-wise, is to just use the cheapest OEM-type iron rotors you can find.

Remove it completely or use it to attach some brake ducting

dont feel bad man. I managed to crack a brand new DBA rotor this weekend as well in atlanta, and im running XP12s F and Xp10s R. with no sheild and ducts.

was my fault really, was taking a few friends for a ride on sunday in the second to last HPDE 3 session and i guess i was stoped to long in pit lane waiting for someone to get in the car. Ill get a picture of it up later tonight, I cracked it half.

The XP12's are extremely rotor aggressive, at least from my experience on the S2000. I would not expect to get much more than a couple track events out of them.
