whats the purpose of the 6 point sub straps compared to the single on a 5 point

5 or 6 point work exactly the same in a "production" car. You rally need to be tilted back to "need" the 6 pt.

The purpuse of both is to hold the lap belts down so they don't slide up and you slide under.

Pull-up type make it easier to adjust the lap belts. If you pick up up a Schroth harness, you can interchange between 6 and 5 pt as the camlock is identical.

This was posted on cc recently:

"I was able to see a presentation by some folks from GM Racing about safety equipment just a few weeks ago. For me, the compelling data was the difference in body movement, and the resulting chest compression, btwn the 5 and 6/7 point harness. Your sternum will also appreciate the benefits of a 6 point."

It makes sense that there would be greater limitation of movement of the point at the camlock location with 2 "opposing" straps rather than 1 that can freely "pendulum around", if you get what I'm trying to describe.

i will nab a 6 point hans/pull up schroth.

if pull doesnt work in S it will go in 2JZ
