Wow. I don't know if I'd want to take it that far myself. The area which seems gray, at least in NASA competition as I haven't perused SCCA rules, is that there seems to be forbidding of body modification in general, then specific allowances put in such as hoods, trunks, etc. depending on class. However there do seem to be plenty of interpretations I would not expect by my reading.

So I guess I was polling to see whether cutting just the tool well, as this discussion began with, would be considered legal. this included the picture example in the post by //steve\\ as then the question of 'can it be open, or must one block it off' is answered.

Oh, and for some reason SC_Highlander that picture really creeps me out.
