Different Racing Line, Same Lap Time
Hey, congratulations on the video you put together, that was something to be proud of in itself! I know a few autocrossers that would love to have that kind of analysis after a race.
As far as your times... I'd have to agree with much of what the others had said. It really looks like you were both complimenting each other on doing good/poorly at different sections of the track. You were more aggressive with late braking, he was better at rhythm sections. Also, judging from the animation video it looked like both of you had some problems at confusing points in the track (see end of first rhythm section). I'd suspect you both got better as you learned the track on repeated runs. A final note goes along with learning the track and that is to learn which turns to sacrafice slower speeds on so that you can line yourself up for a longer straighter acceleration. He was able to do this on a few of the tighter hairpins to catch up.
