Thanks for the timely post of this video. I go to the track this friday and this helped me regain a healthy level of respect for what could happen.

who was that? anyone we know?

I have now completed a season of real racing and have yet to spin someone out, crash into something big, etc......

That guy may want to consider something else? just seemed like a lot of contact which ain't that cool to be around when you are stuck dealing the problems they caused.

There are two kinds of racers. Those that have crashed and those that will.

after rewatching it, it looks like that is taped from a few different cars. I thought all of those bumps, spins, etc... was one driver.....

crappy way to end the season.

I am sure at some point I will wreck, but somehow i made it through an entire season without bumping anyone (i got bumped 3-4 times) or spinning anyone out, etc....... i finished fairly well, so it wasn't like i just hung out in back avoiding people.

You've just noticed the fundamental difference between racing in California and in the Northwest. Contact is quite common in the local wheel-to-wheel conferences. I've heard of two events in the past year that less than 50% of the starting field failed to complete the race. Some of the more aggressive classes pay into some sort of 'crash pot' before each race because the corner workers are so likely to get a workout.

Can you guess why I bought two Miatas with the hope of completing one season?
