Dixie NT reg is open
I have to imagine he's running the magic 195 Toyo.
It's dangerous to try to read too much into the results from afar, but Super Stock is being led by the Corvettes and is outpaxing Jadrice in BS, so I imagine the course can't be *that* favorable to small cars.
He had the 195 Toyos. One of our leading STR drivers suggested that the NB Miata had a good run because the course design was fairly tight. I agreed insofar as some of the STC cars appeared faster than SS Corvettes through many parts of the course.
Either way, Darren really kicked ass, and congrats to a well-earned win on day I to him.

It's often asserted that the 195 Toyo has a softer rubber compound than other sizes of the tire, giving an advantage to cars like the ST Civics that can run it. I'm not aware of anyone having proven it's actually different, but it's not controversial when someone mentions it on SCCAForums.
The toyo 195 is the "soft" compound all the way through and always prove to be faster than the 225. Congrats to Darin and David, they are fast even when they are on the 225 kooks.
We are going to make a few more adjustments to Jon's car to get the back end stable. It's about 50% there. Hopefully we can compete more tomorrow. Love this class! Can't wait for my car to be finished!

Matthew made a last minute decision to go with kooks, he may go back to the lops tomorrow. We felt lonely running the Star Specs but i plan to continue with them over my RS3s. Just some thoughts, we ran them full tread. I'm wondering if these get better once they are broken in? With Jon's setup, the RS3s felt sloppy while the Dunlops complimented his car more. We ran 36/35 f/r.
Marc, it took me +50 lbs rear spring rate on my rs3s to make them feel like the dunlops (at least on back roads and on the highway).. I wonder if it because your suspension is tuned for the dunlops that the rs3 doesn't feel as good. I was thinking that the course is so transition intesive that the Dunlop would be better, but ran rs3 since that's really all I know in the autocross context since this is the first event on the car in a prepared str context, and my car has been set up to feel proper on the RS3.
I have run several years worth on the Dunlop on my former Z4, and I personally like them at fuller tread. People seem to have different experiences when shaving them. Some complain about a second compound of less grip, and others seem to think they are best just before bald.
All I can say is that I personally prefer brand new dunlops like you are running
What pressures do you like on thR rs3? We were using 37 with even temps on the pyro...
