If that worked easily, I wouldn't have to reach over to the passenger door to let my wife in the car.

Hey! My wife was hit by a car last year that spun at the finish. Maybe I should have let her in the car instead of locking her out.

BTW, GEICO's a pain in the ass. Flee! FLEE!!

Question... do you turn off the VSA when you are running on the Auto-X?

I know for a fact that the car has its own safety mechanism built in with the VSA on that whenever the car needs to activate the VSA cause it thinks the car will lose control, it will automatically unlock boths doors just incase the car is in an accident and the doors need to be opened from the outside. The doors have unlocked themselves during on and off ramps where the light blinks and the doors unlock right away.

As far as when the VSA is off, I'm not really too sure cause I only turn it off at the Auto-X, but I always unlock my doors as a precaution.

Really, this is funny, since I never run locked I never noticed VSA door unlocking. The strength of the door is in the frame and the frame alignment tabs, locks aren't going to save you from anything other than angry wives.

Only angry wives though... cause angry girlfriends will just smash your car, they don't really need to smash you personally...

Yeah... I can only confirm that the doors unlock when the VSA is on. I haven't a clue when VSA is off.

The only time my door automatically unlocks is when I unlock them with the remote and don't open the door in around ~45 seconds...

Hmm... which just happens to be about the normal time of a moderately sized autocross. Coincidence? naaah.

[edit]
No wait.... never mind, it automatically locks when I don't open the door. That is a weird one!

Since the "locks" just disable the handles, as has already been discussed, and since I don't know anyone who has autocrossed with both the top and windows up (I don't think it's even allowed), I can't imagine locking the doors would saving you from anything, angry wives included.

Sure it's allowed - pouring rain. I've seen novices run with things closed up but then they don't understand the audio signals they're receiving yet...
