Default Effects of rear toe-in?

For track I run non-staggerred with a big Saner front swaybar.

Initially I got understeer and I had to back my rear toe-in down to just over zero to get the car balanced.

So I'm thinking of going to full stiff on the bar but to get the car balanced I'd need to go to zero rear toe. I'm wondering what else rear toe-in might effect?
Would I be giving up anything running zero toe to get more front bar?

With the bumpsteer thing on Ap1's could actually running less toe-in to start be beneficial?

That's odd. What are the rest of your settings? Camber, tires, pressures, setting on the saner, other mods?

All things being equal, running non stagger with stock bars should net you massive oversteer. Adding the saner should make the car more nutral. So there must be something else you are not telling us.

you dont want zero toe, the car is extremley twitchy and unpredectable. I ran 1/16th toe in on the rear.

this was my set up.

Front Camber
LF RF
-3.2 -3.2
Front Toe
LF RF
0 0
Front Caster
LF RF
6.0 6.0
Rear Camber
LR RR
-3.5 -3.5
Rear Toe
LR RR
0.5in 0.5in

this was in TTC National's trim, On KWV3's and Ra-1s with a 1/4 tank of fuel the car weighed in @ 2765.

The spring are about 50lbs+ more in the rear than front is probably what makes a difference and how I run the saner on medium and be considering running it at full stiff.

But I still had understeer on the stock 03 springs with the bar on soft until I backed the toe-in down.

I run my tire pressures pretty much even, standard alignment, zero front toe, max camber all round and then max castor.

What I'm realy interested in is if take the toe out to get more front bar will it cause problems in other areas?

I'm not quite sure that I agree with everyone that your suggested setup being a "massive oversteer" setup. It might not be ideal for say auto-x, but I can see where the saner bar alone might make the car push a bit more than desired on track. Ultimately it depends on the venue.

To answer your question, I think completely removing toe in, will make the car (the rear) move around a bit more under breaking.

Why not soften the front bar a bit instead to increase front traction? It's better to increase traction to balance the car vs decreasing the rear stability to find the balance you're looking for.

+1

We still havn't heard what tire size, model, tire pressure, CAMBER, toe, other modifications you have done, etc...

I guess what I am taking from this thread is I should try more front bar.. but if it understeers then don't reduce toe-in to zero to try and compensate because it will be a twitchy mess...
