Motul 300V 5w-40 or 10w-40.

Change every 3 event, no daily.

I use Napa Gold. Mainly because I get them at the shop for free, but they have also shown to be a decent filter. Anyway check this link out for more information on filters.

I switched from Mobil 1 5w30 to our (Edelbrock) Cat Safe 5w30 and went from using a quart of oil every 1000 miles to using barely any at all. I don't DD mine, and change all the fluids every 3rd track day.
Any more info on this and is it publicly available? I'm always open to better oils.
Yeah it's readily available. It is made by Torco for us.

Amsoil 10w-30 for me. Change oil every 2-3 track days at most, with some highway/city driving in between.

Unless a w30 oil is actually breaking down, then your engine will run cooler with a w30 oil than a w40 or especially a w50. Thicker oils generate more heat. This according to the Redline tech rep.

Thicker viscosity oils will indeed cause a rise in engine temperatures but you would likely never know it based on water temperatures alone (going up to an SAE40 anyway) There will be more friction with the oil film itself and therefore you will generate more heat. The idea is that the thicker fluids MAY provide more protection under hard track use but I have yet to see any real evidence to support that for the F20, F22. That said, I don't believe you are doing any harm and if it gives you piece of mind then go for it.

For the S2000, thinner may work just as well. Check out the first UOA reports on my S2000. When I first bought the car the oil in it was 5w-20, I used this for something like 50 autocross runs and always ran it to redline. Since then I have switched to an SAE30 and I will sample it after we get some more events on the car. I am tempted to try a 0w-20 around early-mid summer and see how it looks.

Bringing this back up from the dead since it hasn't been updated in 9 years, lol.

So, in the year 2021, what's the go-to engine oil (full synthetic) and weight for those of us who track our S2000s?

Is anyone in this section of the forum worried about resource conserving 5w30?
