Thanks for all the replies. I started it up today and everything looks and sounds fine. Very tiny bit of smoke (could have been water vapor in the exhaust) at startup but it looked pretty normal. I'll just keep a real close eye on things for a while.

I've done this at auto-x.

What I suspect happened is you sucked oil into the intake -right- before you shut it off, such as a hard corner at the end of the course. So when you fire it back up it you suck the oil in and burn it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, if it was the piston seal, the smoke would be more blueish/black.

I'm sure his smoke was blueish grey. It can almost look white.

Not that I saw his case, but I have done the exact same thing before at an auto-x. It's just our highrpm motor and its tendancy to ingest some oil thru the pcv.

Been there, done that. Always nerve racking when it happens for the first time. I managed to get a nice cloud going on a mountain drive. Had me worried for a bit but I kept remembering that this car has a tendency to do that on tight right handers and this particular turn was just that.

Take your wanna-be street racing exploits to Street Encounters

Or get off your lazy butt and come back out to a track day.

Yeah, 74's a punk, but he's got potential to be converted to the dark side. So, problem solved, time for a hijack?

T, Mr.-Thanks-for-not-hitting-me-when-i-spun-out-Payne.

Still debating what tires I should get. Are you guys hard set on RA1's? Seems like the consensus. These will be the dedicated track tires but I'll have to drive on the street to get there.

Ry, anything to get T riled up.

Okay, a couple of wuestions,
First and most important - Is the car still driving fine TubeDriver?
Second - when are we supposed to change the PCV valve anyway?
Third - Has anyone run the Hoosier R3S04s yet? I've had the R3S03s before, but I wonder how the new Hoosier is?

Car seems fine. You can check your PCV valve, just pull it and you should be able to blow through it in one direction and not through the other direction. If you shake it it should rattle. I don't think you should have to replace it till either 30k (?) but I tend to cut most mantainance inetervals in 1/2 or 1/3. I was on RA-1s.
