Default EPS and Speed Sensor

From my understanding the EPS (electronic Power Steering) in the S2000 senses the speed of the car to determine the amount of steering assist it will supply. However, I could be wrong. My question is what sensor does it use to do so? Is it the ABS system sensors (orange sensor on each corner) or the speed sensor?

Thanks

VSS on the trans.
but........

if you remove the factory cluster you need to get a "reducer" for the signal before you can send it to the eps brain
there is one dakota digital makes for it.

if you have the cluster you need to take the VSS out of it and send to the eps
