The key is it is still all a single point release. You turn the cam buckle and all the straps (8 of them) are instantly loose, and you exit (by yourself or hauled out) with your helmet and HANS on. Same for all formula cars, and a much easier and faster exit than from a street-racecar with a caged top, so actually safer in my view.
Mygale is alright; Tatuus is the best chassis I've worked on. Elan simply SUCKS. NOTHING fits from the parts trailer when you run Elans; Tatuus I've replaced corners of a car, jigged the wishbones to the dimension of the one before the crash and all the camber, caster and toe were EXACTLY the same. All the bolts fit into the holes, simply superb manufacturing.
Mygale wasn't bad, but wasn't as nice as the Tatuus.
Don't even get me started on the Elans...those POS'es
Thanks for the info. I almost got a Van Diemen (Elan) but the sale fell through and was fortunate I guess to get the Mygale (Tatuus doesn't make an F2000). I've also heard from others that the VD's are not as well designed but on the track the differences are negligible so driver is the key variable (as should be in a spec series). I think VD's look sleeker though.
