First laps in my S2000!
Well I took my first laps in my 4000-mile old S2000 today at the local autox meet (with stock SO-2's), and holy smokes this thing is fast!!
All my timed laps for the day were run in a 2000 Miata, so for kicks I went for a couple fun-runs at the end of the day. They weren't timed, but oh mama was it fun. The scream of the engine, the ridiculous braking, the instant response to steering/throttle....mmmmm, Hondaa (drool).
Now before everyone jumps all over me for racing the Miata instead of the S2k, my disclaimer is that I wasn't ready to thrash my tires and possibly my transmission without some practice in another 6-spd manual, rear drive vehicle (my previous car being a 4-door, front drive, auto-tranny Grand Am)
. Methinks the Miata may get abandoned for the next event.
On the first run, I got a buddy to ride with his 8mm video camera, so we got some kick-ass in-cockpit footage. I was so psyched at the world of difference between my S and the frickin Miata that I went for another fun-run...and I let CG into my car as a passenger! I didn't quite make him wet his pants, but I got close when the rear wheels gave me a wiggle at 80+ MPH!
Anyway, the moral of this story is: Dang I love my car.

Good grief Tedow, who in their right mind would design an autocross course where you could go 80+ mph?
Actually on this fun run Tedow was "forced" to skip a gate with downed cones so he was able to really fly through this section.
I wasn't too worried when Tedow wiggled the car but I may have left a little pucker print on the seat.
This was a fast course, with well over half of it being run in third gear with one section dropping from way up in third to first gear.
