Default First Time Track (experienced help?)

Hi, I have a stock 2003 S2000. I haven't done much with my car except just launches and sliding around street corners and stuff like that, races with friends.. My friends and I have arranged a day at the local race track, just to test out and see what the cars can do..

(Stuff like Autocross, Time Trial, and Slalom)

However i have heard of stuff like having to use special brake coolant on so that you dont overheat the brakes, and tire pressure (i think its 40psi on both rear and front wheels) and other stuff...

I'll probably use oversteer and drift methods to take corners, so i was wondering if anyone has experience with track races, knowing the S2000, what i should do before a day at the track. And what possible things could happen to the car (excessive wear on the clutch, e.g)

It's my first time, so i dont want to get all hardcore and force the car too much...

thanks, for all the help....

-Jason

Hard for us to know what's available to you in your country but at the very least you should run some higher temp brake fluid (ATE SuperBlue or Valvoline Synthetic are the cheapest options for good fluid) and tires should be 38-40 psi hot (after a track session) or you'll really chew them up. Change your oil before the track day & monitor consumption during the day. If you use the stock pads you'll go through them rather quickly. Even just changing the fronts only makes a big difference (get some Cobalt Spec VRs from the Go Fast Lab).

If you looked at previous posts in this R&C forum, this really shouldn't be anything surprising as your not really asking anything new.

Post some pics of what's left of your car after you lose control and roll it over.

Save the slow-ass show-off crap for when you've learned some car control.

Either you like throwing red meat to tigers, or this is a well-crafted troll....

Although you might have thought so, this isn't really the forum for your question. Mostly this forum is about driving fast, not "using oversteer and drift methods to take corners".

But to actually answer your question, you don't need to do anything special to the car. Basically you won't be using it hard enough. You will, however, go through tires like crazy if you actually do a lot of drifting. Bring spares.
